Journey with Dolphins is a unique program offered nowhere else! Journey with Dolphins is a multi-session program that includes three
sessions (or lessons) and an optional excursion. Students learn about marine animals and their environment whilst being encouraged to
explore their own qualities/attributes.
Each lesson focuses on a different topic related to coastal ecosystems, marine life and sustainable actions – . The lessons comprise a range of activities that will promote self-awareness (immersing in one’s inner world), group awareness (building social skills) and environmental awareness (activating citizenship). Each session includes knowledge building, storytelling and an environmentally-friendly craft activity.
Optional excursions:
Option 1: Guided walk to explore the diversity of our coastal ecosystems. During this activity, students are encouraged to make connections between what they have learnt and the different types of habitats, from inland to the coast. They learn about their importance and become aware of why we should protect these habitats as they play key roles not only for the wildlife but also for our coastal communities.
Option 2: Marine Debris – Students engage in a beach clean-u following a scientific method of collection and classification of debris. The data collected are entered in national database. Students reflect about the findings and what they can do at the personal level to make a difference to this type of marine pollution.
